In the early morning hours of December 26, 2004, a massive tsunami came ashore and washed away entire villages and towns killing hundreds of thousands of people along the Indian Ocean beach heads. Among those structures washed away was a group of orphanages in India. The children were all spared. Solace went to work and raised money to help rebuild the structures, and replace furnishings, clothing and food supplies. In response, the Good News Missions asked Solace for a large bronze placque to put on the front of the new orphan home.
